Description

Join our 4-day Intermediate Woodworking Class, held on Sundays, and take your skills to the next level by building a beautiful rocking chair. Designed for woodworkers with some experience, this course focuses on precision joinery, curved cuts, and advanced assembly techniques. By the end of the class, you'll have a handcrafted heirloom-quality chair and the confidence to tackle more complex projects. You may bring up to two additional people to join and help for an added fee of $150 per person; however, only one rocking chair will be built per group. The size you choose to build is entirely up to you—anyone can make either the adult or kid-sized version, regardless of age.

This class includes a sprayed-on finish and engraving of a special message.

  • “TotalBoat” Marine Varnish

Considerations

Depending on which size you choose; your final “adult size” chair will be approximately 44”L x 32”W x 42”H and the “kid size” chair will be approximately 34”L x 24”W x 31”H. We will be using countersunk screws and plugs for the joinery of this chair. Laser engraving is limited to two lines of straight text along with our logo.

Please remember that wood is a naturally sourced material and may contain flaws or imperfections.

Attire

For your safety and protection, please ensure that you wear tight-fitting shirts, long pants, and closed-toed shoes throughout the class. During heavy machine and power tool operations, it is imperative to tie back long hair, roll up long sleeves, and wear hearing and eye protection. You are welcome to bring your own protective gear, or you may use the ones we provide free of charge.

Duration: ~20 hours over the course of 4 days

Dates Offered: By signing up for this class, you are enrolling in a series of four classes held over four consecutive weeks on the dates listed below. Your start date will be the one you select at checkout.

Class Fee: Adult Size $1,050 or Kid Size $655
